Azahar

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: The sweet Azahar is ready for a new chapter in her life. She is an absolute fighter who doesn't let small health issues dampen her joy for life! Azahar tells her story: I was simply abandoned in a cardboard box with my two babies in an industrial area where many other stray cats already live. Fortunately, we were rescued in time! I have small spots on one eye from an old, healed ulcer. That doesn't bother me at all – I see the world with perfectly normal eyes! I breathe a bit noisier. This is due to a chronic childhood cold (rhinitis). I am desensitized and live completely carefree. Despite everything, I am a perfectly normal, lively companion ready to conquer your heart in a storm. I currently live in a foster home and show myself there as an incredibly loving and cuddly cat. I love the proximity of humans and enjoy every bit of attention. I get along absolutely problemlessly with other cats and am very compatible. I wish for a loving home where I am taken exactly as I am: perfectly imperfect! The animal presented here comes from an animal shelter/foster home that houses many animals. For these animals, we are searching for a loving and safe home. The descriptions are brief because there simply isn't time for detailed descriptions during the daily work of caring for all the animals. If interested, a more detailed description can be requested by sending your questions directly to the provided address. We will do our best to respond as soon as possible. Home sought For Azahar, we are searching for a loving, understanding home. Our cats come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with an EU Pass, if their age and health status allow. Additionally, they are tested for FELV/FIV. We look forward to your contact.

About Azahar

What life with Azahar looks like

Azahar is a small adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Azahar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Azahar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Azahar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Azahar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Azahar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Azahar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Azahar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
