Azjata

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

He arrived with us in October 2025 as a found dog from the town of Nekla. What was his previous history? Unfortunately, we don't know. What we do know is that life has taught him caution. Azjata is an unfriendly dog towards new people. He doesn't throw himself into their arms, nor does he give kisses in the morning. He needs time, peace, and predictability to trust someone. At this moment, he tolerates one familiar person—only she goes for walks with him and only she leads him. On the playfield, Azjata is in his world. The human steps back, counting on space, scents, and holy peace. This is not a dog who will seek contact by force—this must be respected. We are looking for an aware, patient, and willing-to-work home for an Asian. The future family will have to work with a behaviorist because Azjata is a long-term project. But such projects give the greatest satisfaction. If you have peace, consistency, and a heart ready for a dog who doesn't trust right away—Azjata might be the one who someday trusts you. And that will be a great victory.

Przyjechał do nas w październiku 2025 roku jako znaleziony pies z gminy Nekla. Jaka była jego wcześniejsza historia? Tego niestety nie wiemy. Wiemy za to jedno - życie nauczyło go ostrożności. Azjata jest psem nieufnym wobec nowych osób. Nie rzuca się w ramiona, nie rozdaje buziaków na dzień dobry. Potrzebuje czasu, spokoju i przewidywalności, żeby kogoś do siebie dopuścić. I to będzie wielkie zwycięstwo.

About Azjata

What life with Azjata looks like

Azjata is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Skałowo in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Azjata, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Azjata?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Skałowo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Azjata on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Azjata if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Skałowo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Azjata already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Azjata isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Skałowo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Azjata and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
