Baby

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Bodeguero Mix Puppy Baby is looking for his "dog parents." Baby and his brother were surrendered by animal welfare advocates at our Spanish partner shelter. Baby is a sweet little guy, exhibiting all the typical behaviors of a puppy. The puppy should not have to spend his childhood in a shelter. Everything has its limitations here, and the living conditions in a shelter cannot meet the needs of a puppy. Baby is a little dog treasure who belongs in loving and caring hands. He should be allowed to grow up in a family environment. Therefore, we are looking for a loving home for Baby as soon as possible. This should give the new family member the time he needs to adjust to a completely new environment. Baby will face many new impressions and situations that he will need to understand and process. He will also need to learn all the basic dog skills. Baby wants to be positively guided and supported in all his developmental steps. We wish for Baby a family that will have a lot of fun with him and will encourage and challenge him. Having a dog friend already living in his future home would make Baby very happy. Adopting a rescue dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. They are aware of the special responsibility and if you are seriously interested in adopting Baby, please contact the responsible mediator. We would also be very happy to provide a foster home. Here is Baby's video.

About Baby

What life with Baby looks like

Baby is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
