Baccar

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! Baccar was locally adopted! His story: Baccar is a large, stately male dog who apparently knows exactly what he wants to achieve in life. After his first year of life clearly did not meet his expectations and no one came to take Baccar by the scruff of the neck and explain the world to him, it seems he decided to take his destiny into his own hands. One morning, he sat with a wagging tail and expectant look in front of Paul's Shelter. When the door opened, he marched in as if it were the most natural thing in the world. And living there freely and well cared for, playful and friendly to all people and dogs, he still does. We have understood Baccar to be in desperate need of his own people and a real home. And of course, we would like to help him with that. Baccar is 65 to 70 cm tall at the shoulder, one of the larger dogs. He is estimated to be two and a half years old and has a long life ahead of him. His fur is a bit yellow and scruffy, but with the right care, it will soon appear in shining white and then he will be able to show his full beauty. For those who want to adopt this unusual and impressive dog, it should be considered that Baccar's puberty is just beginning. And like in humans, puberty can be a difficult time when rules may be questioned and boundaries tested. And even though Baccar is an incredibly friendly and intelligent dog, he should be accompanied on his journey with much patience and affection, and also with loving consistency. Herding abilities cannot be ruled out for Baccar, so a house with an enclosed garden would certainly be advantageous. Baccar travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and has an EU pet passport. He is available after a positive Liane W.-V.! You gave Baccar his beautiful name! Date: 10.05.

Vielen Dank Liane W.-V.! Du hast Baccar seinen schönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 10.05.2023

About Baccar

What life with Baccar looks like

Baccar is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baccar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baccar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baccar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baccar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baccar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baccar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baccar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
