Bali

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Bali is a 9-month-old male cat found on the street with Tokyo, a female cat also up for adoption. They lived outside before being taken in by the SOS Stray Cats association. They quickly showed that they were not completely wild and were still looking for human contact. Very comfortable with people, Bali willingly comes to humans and especially enjoys moments of tenderness. Like Tokyo, he can be a bit fearful of what he doesn't know. He is already very kind and sociable and has quickly demonstrated his ability to form a bond with humans. We want to find him a calm home with an outdoor area, where he can continue to evolve at his own pace and gradually get used to his new surroundings. His future adopters will need to respect his pace and not force contact. A secure outdoor area can be offered after an adaptation period in his new home.

FR·Show original

About Bali

What life with Bali looks like

Bali is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at SRPA Veeweyde Brussels in Brussels.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bali, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bali?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SRPA Veeweyde Brussels handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bali on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bali if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SRPA Veeweyde Brussels will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bali already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bali isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SRPA Veeweyde Brussels early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bali and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
