Bali

Male · Senior · 11 years

Tiny Individual Prince with a big heart seeks a sensitive home with experience I am Bali, a little, very special guy with roots in Taiwan. My past life was quite turbulent, and unfortunately, I was given up on because my people were overwhelmed with me. I am very insecure around strangers and show clear signs when something is too much for me – this has led to snapping incidents in the past. But I am also incredibly eager to learn, cuddly with my trusted people, and love working on new tasks together. If you trust me, you will find a loyal partner in me. What sets me apart: I am house-trained, know basic commands, and can calmly pass other dogs. I love learning new tricks with my trusted people – I am very smart and have a strong "will to please." I orient myself strongly towards familiar people and am very clingy and cuddly with them. Driving is not a problem for me, and I also enjoy walks on the lead. I show great motivation in training and enjoy working together – the shared learning really does me good. I wear a muzzle and lead outside, which is normal for me. What I still need to work on: I react skeptically to strangers and can snap if someone gets too close. I do not like other dogs – if they don’t come too close, everything is fine, but if they get too close to me, I become clear. I show resource defense and need people who are capable enough to manage this proactively. Whether I can be alone is still uncertain – this needs to be practiced slowly and patiently. Due to my hunting drive, I should always be on the lead outside. What I am looking for: A quiet, more rural home without children. People with dog experience, patience, and a gentle touch for more sensitive characters. A structured daily routine with clear rules and loving consequences. Shared mental stimulation, training, and beautiful time in nature. People who are willing to visit me several times at the this breed Shelter before we start together. If you believe we would be a good match, please contact my animal caretakers at the Lassie-House at 030 76 888-220 or fill out the application form. Several get-to-know-you sessions are necessary for trust-building.

About Bali

What life with Bali looks like

Bali is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Resource guarding, requires muzzle outdoors, snapping incidents with strangers, needs patient training for being left alone

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bali, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bali?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bali on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bali if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bali already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bali isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bali and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
