This imposing Cane-Corso mix named Balu was taken in by our shelter on April 25, '26. For this friendly powerhouse, we are looking for experienced people who are not only physically matched but can also provide clear and consistent leadership to the approximately two-year-old male dog. He is already doing quite well on the leash. Whether Balu can be alone for a while cannot be tested at our shelter. A suitable home without children and other fellow animals is sought so that Balu can arrive in a relaxed environment and continue to learn. Its roots date back to the time of the Roman Empire, where it served as a versatile working dog. Later, it was bred as a protective dog for farmers and ranchers. Additionally, it helped in hunting by tracking and holding game. Today, the Cane Corso is valued both as a family dog and in protective and guard functions. In the 1970s, the breed was on the verge of extinction until dedicated breeders saved it. Key characteristics include its protective instinct (guarding his family and territory), intelligence (high learning ability and quick comprehension), and loyalty (strong bond and devotion to his owners). A Cane Corso must be well socialized and trained to avoid becoming too dominant. It is important to lead him with love but consistency. As an active dog that needs ample exercise and mental stimulation, he is well suited for walks, hiking, and other outdoor activities. Dieser stattliche Cane-Corso-Mix namens Balu wurde per Sicherstellung am 25. April '26 im Tierheim untergebracht. Für das freundliche Kraftpaket suchen wir erfahrene Menschen, die ihm nicht nur kräftemäßig gewachsen sind, sondern dem ca. zweijährigen Rüden auch eine klare und konsequente Führung geben können. Mittlerweile läuft er schon recht gut an der Leine. Ob Balu eine gewisse Zeit alleine bleiben kann, kann im Tierheim nicht getestet werden. Gesucht wird ein geeignetes Zuhause ohne Kinder und weitere Artgenossen, so dass Balu in einem entspannten Umfeld ankommen und weiter lernen kann.
