Balu (born 01.06.2020) came to the shelter when his previous owners were overwhelmed with him. He shows friendly behavior towards people and other dogs. With his caregivers, he is affectionate and enjoys human closeness. Balu is a very active dog who enjoys longer walks and would make a great jogging companion. However, leash training needs work as he reacts to external stimuli like motorcycle riders. Currently behaves very panicked at the vet, making examinations difficult - this is being practiced with him. We seek experienced dog owners willing to continue working with him.

Aufgeregt, voller Energie und ganz schön clever – das beschreibt ihn wohl am besten. Hier im Tierheim hat er bereits enorme Fortschritte gemacht. Besonders auf Spaziergängen ist seine Entwicklung deutlich zu erkennen. Früher konnte ihn nahezu jeder Umweltreiz aus der Fassung bringen – ob Motorrad, Fahrrad oder andere Bewegungen: Schnell wollte er nach vorne. Mittlerweile gelingt es ihm immer besser, gelassen zu bleiben und sich an seinem Menschen zu orientieren. An der Leine zeigt er sich bei Hunde Begegnungen als ein pöbler. Am manchen Tagen gelingt es ihm besser gelassen zu sein aber er verfällt gern in alte Muster.Natürlich ist er noch nicht am Ziel, aber seine Fortschritte zeigen, dass er lernen kann und möchte. Ein kleiner Jagdtrieb ist bei ihm allerdings deutlich zu erkennen. Bei Artgenossen zeigt er sich überwiegend verträglich und kommt mit den meisten Hunden zurecht. Gleichzeitig kann er durchaus deutlich machen, wenn ihm etwas nicht passt – er weiß also durchaus, sich zu behaupten. Für ihn wünschen wir uns aktive Menschen, die Freude daran haben, gemeinsam mit ihm weiterzuarbeiten und ihn sowohl körperlich als auch geistig auszulasten. Kleine Kinder und andere kleine Haustiere ( zB Kannichnchen ..) sollten in seinem neuen Zuhause nicht vorhanden sein. Hundeerfahrung wäre sicherlich von Vorteil, vor allem aber wünschen wir uns Menschen, die Lust haben, seine bisherigen Fortschritte weiterzuführen. Ein ruhigeres Wohnumfeld würde ihm dabei zusätzlich helfen.
