Balu irrte wochenlang durch die Straßen und Felder einer kleineren Stadt. Lokale Tierschützer fingen ihn ein und brachten ihn in unsere Rettungsstation. Balu ist mittlerweile einige Monate bei uns. Der Grund dafür ist sein Gesundheitszustand: als Balu zu uns kam wurde er, wie jeder andere adulte Hund zum Tierarzt gebracht, um ihn kastrieren zu lassen. Leider traten bei der Narkose Komplikationen auf & Balu wäre fast nicht wieder aufgewacht! Bei einem EKG und Herzultraschall stellt sich dann heraus, dass Balu eine Herzrhythmusstörung hat. Sein Herz sollte deshalb in regelmäßigen Abständen untersucht werden. Aktuell braucht er laut dem Spezialisten in Ungarn noch keine Medikamente, nur sollten größere Belastungen vermieden werden. Zudem wurde Balu positiv auf Herzwürmer getestet, die nun auch medikamentös behandelt und etwa Ende des Jahres geheilt sein sollte. Seinen Herzwurmbefall kann man auch problemlos in Deutschland weiterbehandeln und heilen. Wir begleiten und beraten euch natürlich während des gesamten Prozesses & haben auch eine Würmchen-Support-Gruppe mit betroffenen Adoptanten, die bereits viele Erfahrungen gesammelt haben. Alles zum Thema Herzwürmer findest du hier. Balu ist ein eher sanfter, kleiner Kerl. Er ist kein Draufgänger oder super selbstbewusst, sondern zeigt sich im Alltag eher zurückhaltend und ruhig. Vermutlich auch aufgrund seiner Erkrankung ist er kein sonderlich aktiver Hund: im neuen Zuhause würde er sich nach ausreichender Eingewöhnung sicherlich über entspannte Spaziergänge freuen. Hat er einmal Vertrauen gefasst ist Balu ein kleiner Kuschelfan! Er ist dann gern bei seiner Bezugsperson und sucht mitunter auch aktiv die Nähe. Wir wünschen uns für ihn ein eher ruhiges Zuhause ohne viel Trubel. Kleine Kinder sollten deshalb nicht im Zuhause leben. Struktur und Routinen werden ihm helfen sich schneller zurecht zu finden. Aufgrunddessen sehen wir ihn auch eher am Stadtrand oder auf dem Land. Balu braucht Menschen, die ihm schrittweise die Welt zeigen wollen.
