Bamba

Female Β· Young Β· 3 years

Beautiful Bamba is a sweet and sensitive girl with lots of love to give. She is growing in confidence each day. Bamba loves being around her favourite people. She loves nothing more than to cuddle up with her handlers before, during and after activity. She relies on these bonds that she has built to help her take new steps in her confidence-building. She loves making new four-legged friends. Her doggy friends have helped bring out the playful side of Bamba and help her to explore new places. Bamba would make a perfect addition to a home that will give her the time and patience for her to blossom. Meet Bamba, a 3.5-year-old Harrier Crossbreed, who is looking for a home that will help her continue to build her confidence. Bamba can be quite nervous and will need a home that has the time and patience to gradually open up her world and continue building on the confidence she is gaining here in the centre. Bamba would benefit from living in a quieter or rural area, as she can find busy roads and lots of people worrying. Bamba has enjoyed mixing with dogs at the centre, and we have seen this bring her some more confidence. She could live with a relatively calm or neutral, well-matched dog, pending meets at the centre, and she could also live with cats (pending a scent swap) and small furries, birds and livestock if kept separate. Bamba could live with older secondary school-aged children who feel confident understanding her signals and giving her space when she needs it. Bamba enjoys meeting new people at her pace and could have regular visitors once she is fully settled and has established a safe space.

About Bamba

What life with Bamba looks like

Bamba is a small young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Harefield in Harefield.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bamba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bamba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Harefield handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bamba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bamba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Harefield will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bamba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bamba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Harefield early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bamba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
