Bambi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Bambi is part of a litter of 3 kittens from Esme's litter. She has 1 brother named Buck and 1 sister named Birdie. As for their history, it is known that this little family spent 1 month at the Rennes animal shelter. We do not know the details of their life before, but it must have left marks that are reflected in their characters. The three kittens and Esme are very fearful of humans. They flee as soon as they see a hand... But that does not mean we do not see them peeking out! Bambi is the little feisty one in the group. She is fearful of approaching a hand, and tends to spit, but without any aggression: never any scratches or bites. She is slightly more withdrawn than her brother and sister, but she is the one who lets herself be caressed the most (once the hissing stage is passed). She will adapt quickly to her new home and flourish if we take the time to let her discover us. It will be necessary to be patient and teach her that humans can be gentle and kind, that cuddles can be great. Bambi currently lives with her brother, sister, mother, and 2 4-year-old adult cats with whom she gets along wonderfully. She can therefore be adopted alone or with another cat present in the household. She can also be adopted with one of her brother or sister with whom she has a beautiful bond!

FR·Show original

About Bambi

What life with Bambi looks like

Bambi is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Arche de Noé Brest in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bambi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bambi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arche de Noé Brest handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bambi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bambi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arche de Noé Brest will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bambi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bambi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arche de Noé Brest early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bambi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
