Bandeira dina

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

All the DINAs lived in a house with many animals. Our owner dedicated herself to picking up animals and bringing them into her home. We were already too many. The dirt and mess at home were terrible. Neighbors complained, and many of us were unneutered, with the consequent risk. The Town Hall took her animals twice before. Now for the third time, they have confiscated them, and custody is with the ALBA Association to find us a family. BANDEIRA is 9 years old and an exceptional little dog. She arrived with us after an incaution of a Noah's Ark syndrome case, where the owner, although with good intentions, accumulated animals in extremely dirty and disorderly conditions. We suppose that before that, Bandeira had been discarded by a hunter. Shortly after arriving at our animal shelter, she was adopted and lived almost a year in a home where she was described as an exemplary dog: calm, good, affectionate, and behaved wonderfully at home. Unfortunately, the family could no longer care for her for reasons unrelated to her, and Bandeira returned to us. Anyone who knows her doesn't take long to realize her wonderful character. She is sociable, sweet, balanced, and gets along well with all types of dogs, even cats. She handles being handled without problems, enjoys walks, and, although she likes to explore and curiously, walks without pulling on the leash. As a good Greyhound, she values freedom a lot, but she always shows respect. Additionally, she is a little dog with a great added value: she serves as an example to other dogs. With her balance and friendliness, she helps the most timid gain confidence and the less sociable learn to relate better. Her only "defect," if you can call it that, is that she loves food: if you're not careful, she'll stick her head in the treat bag! BANDEIRA needs to find a definitive family soon. Yes, she is a Spanish Greyhound, and yes, of medium-large size, but she has an incredible ability to adapt to any home, no matter how small. All she asks in return is love. She is already vaccinated, neutered, and negative for Leishmania.

About Bandeira dina

What life with Bandeira dina looks like

Bandeira dina is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at ALBA Protectora Madrid in Madrid.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bandeira dina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bandeira dina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ALBA Protectora Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bandeira dina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bandeira dina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ALBA Protectora Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bandeira dina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bandeira dina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ALBA Protectora Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bandeira dina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
