Banjo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now meet this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Banjo has found his home! His story: This charming little fellow is named Banjo and he's just as sweet. The little male dog could travel to his family in late September. However, the owner reacts completely unpredictably and allergically to the sweet male dog. We are all very sad about this, but we are sure that Banjo will find his forever home very quickly. Even though Banjo has only been in Germany for a few days, we can only report positive things. Banjo goes well on the leash, is already house-trained, and sniffs around happily. Everything is new and exciting. But Banjo handles it all with great composure. At 45 cm and 15 kg, he has a pleasant size to keep up everywhere. The one-year-old puppy loves being stroked and brushed. Banjo gets along well with other dogs. We urgently wish engaged and active people for Banjo who will give him the love and affection he has longed for. The friendly male dog will surely enjoy shared activities and beautiful outings and can be taken along to many occasions due to his size. Banjo moves into his new home neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He has his own EU pet passport and can be adopted. Who would like to get to know and love Banjo? Many thanks, Barbara R.! You named Banjo! Date: 02.10.

Vielen Dank Barbara R.! Du hast Banjo seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 02.10.2024

About Banjo

What life with Banjo looks like

Banjo is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Banjo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Banjo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Banjo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Banjo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Banjo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Banjo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Banjo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
