Banjo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

I was walking alone through the streets of Brașov on a cold autumn day, looking for something to eat and a place to take shelter. Now I am safe, but my greatest wish is to find that safety with my own family. I am Banjo! My start may not have been easy, but fortunately, there is little evidence of that when you get to know me. I am an incredibly friendly, social young dog who enjoys making contact with people and gets along well with other dogs and cats. I also find children fun. I have already met a ten-year-old child and that went very well. I was born around March 2026 and there is still a whole world to discover. So there is still a lot to learn! For example, I am currently practicing walking on a leash. It gets a little better every day and with patience and consistent guidance I will definitely make a lot of progress in that. I am looking for a loving family that wants to work with me, do fun things and give me the chance to grow into a confident adult dog. A home where I belong, where there is enough time for play, training and adventure, but where I can also just relax. Now I am ready for my next chapter. After everything I have already experienced, I hope now for a place where I never have to look for food, shelter or safety again. Can I finally come home with you?

About Banjo

What life with Banjo looks like

Banjo is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Dogs on a Journey in Netherlands.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Banjo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Banjo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Dogs on a Journey handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Banjo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Banjo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Dogs on a Journey will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Banjo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Banjo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Dogs on a Journey early rather than rehoming privately; they know Banjo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
