Barum

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Reached: 2025.04.17. Barum and three companions were additional arrivals from the Gyömrői Kutyamentsvár Animal Shelter, which is currently being emptied. Approximately born in 2020, large mixed breed male. Barum has started on the path to a better life. His first stop was our shelter, where he received the missing chip, vaccinations, and after castration, we hope to find a family for him soon, where he can live as a family member. The most timid member of the group, whose soul is in ruins. He avoided human company and preferred to hide behind his companions, wanting to remain invisible. For now, the leash and petting are enemies, but from a respectful distance, he carefully observes his caretaker. So far, he has lived with three males, so the company of other dogs is not unfamiliar to him. Enough time should be given for his adaptation, and dog training is recommended for him, but we believe this wonderful boy can still become someone's favorite family member. Vaccinated, chipped, neutered, he can move in! Attention, the dog is located at the Serényi branch of the NOÉ Animal Shelter. You can inquire about him at our address! More pictures HERE!

Szergénybe került: 2025.04.17.Barum és három társa további érkezőink voltak a kiűrítés alatt álló gyömrői Kutyamentsvár Állatotthonból. kb. 2020-as születésű, nagytestű, keverék kan.Barum elindult egy jobb élet felé. Első állomása menhelyünk lett, ahol megkapta a hiányzó chipet, oltásokat és ivartalanítás után remélhetőleg hamar családot is találunk, ahol családtagként élhet. A csapat legfélősebb tagja akinek romokban lelke. Figyelem a kutya a NOÉ Állatotthon szergényi telephelyén található. Érdeklődni róla a címünkön lehet!További képek ITT! About Barum

What life with Barum looks like

Barum is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Extremely fearful and shy dog requiring extensive socialization and patience. Avoids human contact and needs time to adjust. Dog training school recommended.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Barum, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Barum?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Barum on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Barum if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Barum already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Barum isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Barum and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
