Basta

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Basta – Has anyone finally noticed her? Basta is one of those dogs that no one asks about. People pass by her as if she were invisible. Days go by, weeks turn into months, and she continues to wait… But how long can one wait before the heart stops believing that somewhere there is someone who will love her? She is shy, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have love to give. On the contrary – she needs someone who will show her that a human can be a good friend. Someone who will patiently help her open her heart and give her time to trust. Basta feels great in the company of other dogs, so a home with a yard and a canine companion would be ideal for her. She needs space, warmth, and most importantly – a person who will notice her. Let’s not let her lose hope… If you can’t adopt – share. Maybe your post will be the one that leads her human to find her.

Kogoś, kto cierpliwie pomoże jej otworzyć serce i da jej czas, by zaufała. Nie pozwólmy, by straciła nadzieję… Jeśli nie możesz adoptować – udostępnij. Może to właśnie Twój post sprawi, że jej człowiek ją odnajdzie.

About Basta

What life with Basta looks like

Basta is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Basta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Basta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Basta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Basta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Basta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Basta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec early rather than rehoming privately; they know Basta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
