Adopt BATMAN

Male · Adult · 4 years

Our European Shorthair tomcat BATMAN was surrendered to us for financial reasons. He was born on 01.05.2022. BATMAN is a friendly and people-oriented tomcat who greatly enjoys the company of his trusted people. He is cuddly, talkative, temperamental, and playful, bringing a lot of personality with him. At first, he meets new situations and people rather shyly, but once he has gained trust, he shows himself to be a loyal and affectionate companion. BATMAN is a sensitive tomcat who clearly shows when something does not suit him. At the same time, he is a true charmer with a lovable nature. He often meets men with suspicion, possibly due to bad experiences in his past. Therefore, his new people should give him the time he needs to build trust. For BATMAN, we are looking for a quiet home with a family that has older children or with sensitive adults. Whether he is compatible with other cats, we cannot currently assess. As he likes to observe his surroundings and enjoy fresh air, he needs an apartment with a securely cat-safe netted balcony. Currently, he has a strong intestinal inflammation. The cause is still being clarified. Additionally, he is currently receiving stomach and intestinal-friendly food. -0Fax:

-0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

About BATMAN

What life with BATMAN looks like

BATMAN is a adult cat waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting BATMAN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BATMAN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BATMAN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BATMAN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BATMAN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BATMAN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know BATMAN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
