adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this dog now! If you are looking for a cuddly and affectionate dream dog, you are exactly right with Bats! Bats is about 8 years old and was rescued from the public shelter. Rescued is the correct word in this case, since animals are still regularly killed there today. She has a compact size of 44 cm and weighs about 16 kg. Ideal for cozy cuddle evenings on the sofa. Bats has quickly turned into a little cuddler who would love to give kisses all day long. And who can resist her? When she shines at you and stretches her bat-like ears - hence the name Bats - to the side. Because she is so people-oriented, she currently still has trouble being alone. Therefore, we are looking for people who spend a lot of time at home, or who can also take her with them. We also do not know if Bats already knows things like housebreaking or driving in a car, or if it is new territory for her. During her walks, Bats is relaxed and walks well on a leash. She is curious and enjoys exploring the surroundings. She is initially skeptical towards strangers and expresses this loudly from time to time. She gets along well with other animals. Bats is a gentle soul in her best years, who deserves another chance to start anew. She is friendly, funny, curious, and affectionate. We wish for empathetic people for Bats, who do not have to leave her alone at all, or only very little, during the first period. People who like to cuddle and with whom Bats can have many more adventures. Bats is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and dewormed. She already has her EU pet passport ready and can move to her new home after a positive. If you have space and time for a foster home, we would be very happy about that too. Thank you very much, dear Alexandra D., for giving Bats this suitable name. Thanks to you, she will surely move to her heart's people soon. Date: 17.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Bats

What life with Bats looks like

Bats is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bats, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bats?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bats on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bats if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bats already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bats isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bats and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
