Bazyl

Mixed Breed · Male

A small Yorkie-type dog arrived at the shelter in June and is just getting to know his new life there. At first, he was a bit suspicious, but it only took a few moments and some gentle pets for him to reveal his true nature - he turned out to be a huge cuddler who loves human closeness. He behaved very well on walks. He eagerly explored the surroundings and sniffed new places with interest, and responded without problem when called. He seemed like a calm and attentive companion. When he arrived at the shelter, his coat showed signs of cutting out matting. Someone must have cut them off with scissors beforehand, which is why today he looks a bit like a little samurai, adding to his unique charm. This is a dog who certainly has a lot of affection and loves being petted. We are just getting to know him, so we will be able to say more about him over time. One thing is certain - he deserves a home where he can regain a sense of security and show how wonderful a companion he is.

Do schroniska trafił w czerwcu i dopiero poznaje nowe, schroniskowe życie. Sprawiał wrażenie spokojnego i uważnego towarzysza.

About Bazyl

What life with Bazyl looks like

Bazyl is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bazyl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bazyl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bazyl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bazyl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bazyl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bazyl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bazyl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
