Bebi

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

Male stray/indoor cat, possibly outdoor access Born approx. 2023/2024 Neutered yes / [] no In shelter since 15.09.2026 ________________________ We test every cat with a rapid test for FIV ("cat aids", info here!) and FeLV ("cat leukemia", info here!) and clarify the status. We inform here about the risk of FIP disease ("peritonitis", info here!). ________________________ Bebi came to us because (fortunately) he was caught in a live trap by the City of Stadtallendorf's public order department, which was actually intended for another cat. Since he had already been caught, he was neutered and came to our animal shelter. Unfortunately, an owner could not be found and he does not seem to be missing. Bebi is a big cuddly cat after initial hesitation and uncertainty, which is extremely happy about any kind of attention. He reacts partly panicked to being held or even fixed for a long time, builds up trust slowly, then very deep, and shows himself very sensitive to turmoil or excitement. Once he has gained trust, he is a very affectionate and cuddly companion who literally absorbs love and attention. His name is programmed - if he feels well, he starts directly with milk kick and purrs so much that you can hear it in the whole room. Due to his uncertainty and possible panic, we don't see him at a family with a lot of turmoil and small children. Teenagers with good cat experience are no problem! Bebi shows himself very well with other cats, he always tries to make more contact with the other cats in the room. He is very careful and respects the boundaries of the others. We are looking for a home for him in a social cat society that likes to contact him and can show him the relaxed everyday life with people. Bebi came to the shelter with a fresh eye injury. This has healed, unfortunately he will have a milky spot on his left eye for life. This does not restrict him and is not in need of treatment. Bebi is still very uncertain in new situations. We can hardly estimate whether he wants to go outdoors again in a cat-friendly environment, currently he seems very happy in pure indoor cat keeping. We wish Bebi a permanent home with people who love the sensitive gold cat and can take away the uncertainties and fears of the big wide world. ________________________ (Stand 29.10.2026) (Click on the pictures to see them in full size!) The description reflects the current status, but we reserve the right to make changes or reassessments. It can always happen that an animal shows itself differently or develops differently here in the animal shelter as well as in the new home due to changed circumstances. männlich Fundtier/Wohnungshaltung, ggf. About Bebi

What life with Bebi looks like

Bebi is a large kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bebi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bebi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bebi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bebi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bebi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bebi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bebi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
