Please only apply for them if you already have a guinea pig who is in search of a companion. Guinea pigs can make lovely pets for all the family, they are loveable and charming little animals. Beebe can take a little bit of time to settle into a new environment, but she soon warms up to her carers and learns to trust them. She will soon be squeaking away for her daily veggies and treats, coming over to get some more. What type of environment would suit me? The minimum accommodation for a pair of guinea pigs consists of a 5ft by 2ft (152cm by 61cm) hutch or indoor cage and a 6ft long by 4ft wide by 18 inches high (183cm by 122 cm) wooden framed run with a removable/hinged lid for the grass. Since then, she has grown wonderfully in confidence and will now happily come out with a bit of gentle talking and the promise of some veggie treats.
