Jack and Daniel

Male · Young · 2 years

Jack and Daniel are guinea pigs who need secure housing away from other pets. Single guinea pigs must be matched with existing guinea pig companions. Guinea pigs make lovely family pets and are loveable, charming animals. They can live indoors or outdoors and enjoy grazing on grass. Ideal housing requires a 5ft x 2ft hutch/cage and 6ft x 4ft x 18in run with removable lid for outdoor time.

Support and Health Do I have any medical conditions? None Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? Yes Can I live with cats? Yes Can I live with small pets? Yes Additional information Like other small pets, they should be kept safely away from other animals in the home. As prey animals, they may feel threatened by the presence of other species, such as cats and dogs. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Guinea pigs can make lovely pets for all the family; they are loveable and charming little animals. Some confident piggies can rule the roost with their wheeking for veggies and demands of a cheeky little head rub from the get-go. Being prey animals they can get spooked quite easily, and it may take time for some guinea pigs to feel safe in their new home. Like any animal, treating them with kindness and patience, you will provide them with a safe environment for them to gain confidence. What type of environment would suit me? The minimum accommodation for a pair of boy guinea pigs consists of a 6ft x 2ft sheltered space, such as a hutch, Wendy house, shed or indoor accommodation. Along with a 6 x 4ft wooden framed run with a removeable/hinged lid, or equivalent indoor free-range space (if no access to garden) with a minimum of 18inches high. During the winter or anytime the temperature drops below 15’C, guineas pigs can become hypothermic if no proper measures have been put in place. Discover the perfect care tips for guinea pigs in our care guide: About Jack and Daniel Jack and Daniel are a pair of entire boys looking for a home and owner wanting to spend time to help build their confidence. Since coming into us they prefer to stay hidden under lots of hay and hides. With this being said, Daniel is started to be brave by coming over to see what tasty treats are on offer which is helping to encourage Jack too. They really enjoy a mixture of forage to munch on along with some herbs such as mint, basil and coriander. If you can offer these boys their forever home, please do get in touch via the website. Things to note Do you have a single guinea pig looking for a companion? As well as rehoming bonded pairs or groups, we can help to find companions for single guinea pigs too. We offer an onsite mixing service and can also provide you with ongoing support if you choose to mix at home. To find out more about our mixing service;

About Jack and Daniel

What life with Jack and Daniel looks like

Jack and Daniel is a small young adult animal waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Jack and Daniel far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

Note from the shelter: Must be housed securely away from other pets except guinea pigs. Single guinea pigs need to be mixed with owned guinea pigs as companions.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack and Daniel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack and Daniel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack and Daniel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack and Daniel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack and Daniel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack and Daniel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and Daniel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
