Ideal housing requires a 5ft x 2ft hutch/cage and 6ft x 4ft x 18in run with removable lid for outdoor time.

Support and Health Do I have any medical conditions? None Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? Yes Can I live with cats? Yes Can I live with small pets? Yes Additional information Like other small pets, they should be kept safely away from other animals in the home. As prey animals, they may feel threatened by the presence of other species, such as cats and dogs. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Guinea pigs can make lovely pets for all the family; they are loveable and charming little animals. Some confident piggies can rule the roost with their wheeking for veggies and demands of a cheeky little head rub from the get-go. Being prey animals they can get spooked quite easily, and it may take time for some guinea pigs to feel safe in their new home. Like any animal, treating them with kindness and patience, you will provide them with a safe environment for them to gain confidence. What type of environment would suit me? The minimum accommodation for a pair of boy guinea pigs consists of a 6ft x 2ft sheltered space, such as a hutch, Wendy house, shed or indoor accommodation. Along with a 6 x 4ft wooden framed run with a removeable/hinged lid, or equivalent indoor free-range space (if no access to garden) with a minimum of 18inches high. During the winter or anytime the temperature drops below 15’C, guineas pigs can become hypothermic if no proper measures have been put in place.
