adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Beethoven can travel directly into his own family! His story: Beethoven is a four-month-old, sturdy puppy who already brings an impressive size with his 47 cm and 20 kg. He will grow into a large dog. The little guy has already gone through a lot in his short life. Together with his brother Seppel, he was found in an abandoned yard in Cluj – alone, frightened, and full of uncertainty. Despite these difficult starting conditions, Beethoven shows an amazing strength and a charming personality. He is a sensitive but curious dog who is slowly beginning to trust people. With each encounter, he becomes a little braver and shows more of his loving nature. As a young dog, Beethoven is in the discovery phase – and that means he still has a lot to learn! From secure walking on a leash to basic commands like "sit," "stay," and "heel" to potty training – the entire dog 101 still lies ahead. Also, being alone and living harmoniously with other animals must be practiced. But with patient and loving people by his side, Beethoven will master all these challenges. He gets along excellently with other dogs, and his behavior towards cats has not yet been tested. We cannot rule out that Beethoven is a herding dog mix. One should therefore familiarize themselves with the characteristics of such a breed and consider whether the dog fits into the personal environment. Herding dogs are not city or office dogs. A large property that they can guard would be ideal for them. Since the territory of a herding dog extends as far as they can see, the property should be fenced to show them their territory boundaries. Herding dogs are independent personalities that require consistency and empathy from the owner and the ability to deal with an intelligent, independent, large dog. They bring many wonderful qualities. People who already have experience with herding dogs do not want other breeds anymore, as they, despite their thick skulls, are very loyal and faithful companions. Beethoven exudes a calm, friendly energy. With the right support and a lot of patience, he will develop into a loyal, lovable companion who will win the hearts of his people in a storm. Beethoven is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Stand: 21.01.

Vielen Dank Ramona K.! Du hast Beethoven seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 21.01.2025

About Beethoven

What life with Beethoven looks like

Beethoven is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beethoven, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beethoven?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beethoven on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beethoven if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beethoven already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beethoven isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beethoven and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
