adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Begona has found her home! Her story: May we introduce her? This is Begoña, a charming, gentle female dog in her prime, who simply melts hearts. At about 50 cm, she is a laid-back, medium-sized lady who fits perfectly on any sofa. Begoña was found in a village with a massive tumor on her milk gland. But thanks to her rescuers, she underwent surgery and is now back to top form and in perfect health! Begoña has truly fought hard and deserves her happy ending. Currently, she lives in a foster home in the outdoor area, so it would be wonderful if she could move into her own home before the approaching winter. Begoña is the epitome of pure relaxation. She is super friendly, calm, and absolutely no frazzled whirlwind. What she loves most? Cuddles! She is a real cuddle bug and enjoys every affection. On the leash, she already runs quite well. The best part: Begoña is super social! She gets along great with other dogs and generally gets along with all people. Whether that also applies to cats, we do not know. Begoña is looking forward to beautiful walks and many, many cuddles. Childhood and puberty are long behind her, and she can now start anew with her people. So, if you are looking for a dog for long walks and cuddle hours and no longer need a power package, Begoña is just right for you. Her luggage is already packed, and she can embark on her great journey at any time. She is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, and the EU pet passport is ready to go. Thank you, Begoña, for your name and your identity. Status: 02.11.

Streicheleinheiten! Stand: 02.11.2025

About Begona

What life with Begona looks like

Begona is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Begona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Begona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Begona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Begona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Begona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Begona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Begona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
