adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bella can stay forever in your foster home! Her story: The golden Bella was able to escape the shelter in mid-December and move into her foster family. With her beautiful brown button eyes, her beautifully wavy cream-colored fur, and her dark fur marking on her face, she is simply a wonderful sight. She exudes a very friendly and cheerful demeanor, a true ray of sunshine. From the start, she showed great curiosity, openness, and friendliness towards people as well as to unfamiliar dogs. Now she starts to become a bit wary of strangers and is a bit suspicious of unfamiliar people. However, she still enjoys every kind of cuddling from her trusted people, and she has already built a good bond. She gets along well with the existing first-time dog and is very attentive to her, but she can also be on her own. She loves to play with the first-time dog and is puppy-like playful, even a bit clumsy at times. On the leash, Bella already walks well, is very open and eager to learn, and can be easily bribed with treats. She has gotten used to loud noises like cars, buses, or bicycles outside, and they are no longer as scary. She was already house-trained when she arrived, and she lets you know when she needs to go out. Due to her appearance, we cannot rule out the possibility of being a hunting dog, so one should have experience with the typical character traits, especially since puberty is still ahead. We are looking for loving people for Bella who might also attend positive dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. A rural home with an enclosed yard would be perfect. Originally, Bella came from Bistrita, Romania. She was brought together with her siblings from a Romanian foster home to the public shelter due to space constraints. Unfortunately, nothing is known about her background; it is likely that the puppies were simply abandoned. Has the golden Bella captured your heart? Bella is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted at any time. Many thanks to Sarah! You have given Bella her beautiful name and thus her own identity. As of 17.02.

Vielen Dank an Sarah! Stand: 17.02.2025

About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
