Adopt Ben

Male · Adult · 7 years

BEN, BLACK BEAUTIFUL NEEDS A NEW HOME I am Ben, I know, it's often a dog's name, but that's not what worries me. What worries me is that I am a big black dog and no one wants such. I'm also full of energy that I need to burn every day. I have four years and at the beginning I was. What should I do to make someone like my funny ears? How can someone fall in love with the way I calm down and enjoy being petted? How can someone like it when I sit obediently and gently take a treat? How can I win someone over when every time I leave the cage I make a spectacle out of excitement? I admit that the first five minutes of walks are a bit chaotic because I love sniffing and exploring. I know it's not exactly great, but if I went for a walk every day and someone taught me how I should behave, I would surely become the best Ben in the world. I won't stop hoping, what else do I have left... I can't change my color or size, I can't extinguish the joy inside me... maybe someone will like me after all.

BEN, CRNI LJEPOTAN TREBA NOVI DOM Ja sam Ben, znam, često ime za psa, ali nije to ono što mene tišti. Tišti me što sam veliki crni pesonja, a takve nitko ne želi . Još sam i pun energije koju trebam svaki dan “ispucati”. Četiri godine imam i na početku sam . About Ben

What life with Ben looks like

Ben is a adult dog waiting at Noina Arka.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇷Adopting from Croatia

Croatian shelters include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID in the adoption process. Several work with Italian and German rescue networks for placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ben, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ben?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noina Arka handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ben on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ben if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noina Arka will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ben already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ben isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noina Arka early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ben and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
