adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Beni has finally arrived! His story: Beni is eagerly waiting for his new dog bed! Beni is a very special male dog and wants to show everyone how great he is! He is athletic, cuddly, and about 55 cm and 20 kg in size, making him medium-sized. He is about 3 years old, curious, interested, and playful. Beni is friendly with people. He walks well on a leash, and in lively areas, Beni can get easily excited. In the house, Beni is more calm and can relax well. Beni is house-trained and can already be left alone. In free-run, he gets along well with other dogs, showing fine communication. Sometimes, he can get carsick. If he is not given food before the drive, that is no problem. He then also relaxes. We cannot say anything reliable about his experience with cats, as he has not met any yet. He does show, but also a small prey drive. Beni is a clever fellow and should be challenged both physically and mentally. But long cuddle sessions should also be on the program. Beni is looking for active, dog-experienced people; children should already be older, and a confident single dog would not be a problem. But we think that Beni would rather have the full attention of his people. Cats and small animals should not live there. Beni will still need a lot of training, and his new people should have enough time for that. A house with a secured garden would be great for Beni. His new home should not be directly in the city but rather outside and more quiet. Our Beni is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, and he has an EU pet passport. He is up for adoption. Who has fallen in love and wants to give him a forever home? Beni can be visited upon request. Thank you, Roberta M.! You have given Beni his name and thus an identity! Thank you, you have made our Beni look great and taken these wonderful photos of him! Date: 30.06.

Stand: 30.06.2024

About Beni

What life with Beni looks like

Beni is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
