Adopt Benji2

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Benji – a broken little hero who finally wants to find his place. 💔Benji is a delicate puppy who has had to endure far too much in his young life. He was rescued from the large, dark, urban pound in Alexandria – but the experiences have left their mark on his soul. He is still reserved, uncertain, and sometimes even afraid. But deep down, there is a kind, sensitive treasure that simply wants one thing: care, trust, security, and love. Benji has a lovely character: gentle, but still shy. He currently lives in a private shelter in Caracal without proper attention, but this is not a solution for him. He does not feel comfortable there at all!!! The local animal protectors are very concerned about Benji, as he is beginning to give up piece by piece. He is withdrawing, and we do not know how long he can hold on. Benji urgently needs people with heart and patience. People who can show him step by step that life can be beautiful and full of love. Benji has not yet experienced human kindness. He needs a home that accepts him just as he is – and grows with him. Who will bring the fragile Benji into their home and open their big heart to the tender four-legged friend? Update 25.01.2026: Benji is settling in well in his foster home; he is house-trained, enjoys playing, gets along well with his doggy friends, and will soon learn to walk on a leash. Benji learns quickly, is very adaptable, and has a natural curiosity. 11.01.2026 Benji has made it to a foster home in the Eifel (NRW). Here, he can finally settle in. 10.12.2025 new pictures 29.11.2025 new pictures (with Enna) 04.09.2025 new pictures 14.08.2025 new photos Please note:. About Benji2

What life with Benji2 looks like

Benji2 is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benji2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benji2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benji2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benji2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benji2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benji2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benji2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
