Benny

Doberman · Male · Adult · 6 years

Glaubitz/04910 Kraupa BENNY Benny currently lives on a foster home and shows himself as an absolute heartbreaker there. Unfortunately, this was not always the case. Benny had to leave his first home when the son of the family fell on sleeping Benny and Benny bit the son out of fear. Even in his second home, he did not receive the space and understanding he needed, was pushed back to his place, and another biting incident occurred. Since moving to a dog-experienced home, no incidents have occurred. He gets along super well with a female dog, and it mostly works with neutered males. Intact male dogs are not necessary, but he can accept them in individual cases. He needs clear structure and sometimes boundaries and guidance. Then, he relies on his primary caregiver. Racially speaking, he is skeptical of strangers and should also be secured with a muzzle at the beginning. Due to his size, we assume a certain physical fitness from the new owner. Of course, he still needs to learn and solidify things, and this should not be a problem for people with dog experience. Strengthening the bond by moving forward together and continuing to develop should also be beneficial. Benny is naturally vaccinated and dewormed. Benny has developed so well in the last few months and is now searching for his forever home. Contact: Ansprechpartnerin Ilka Brinkmann. Mail:

Kontakt AnsprechpartnerinIlka Brinkmann Mail:

About Benny

What life with Benny looks like

Benny is a adult doberman dog waiting at Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach in Mudersbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
