Benny

Pointer · Male · Adult · 4 years

Benny Rasse: Pointer Mix Age: born 02.10.2021 Size: approx. 60cm Weight: approx. 20 Kg Neutered: Yes other dogs? Yes children? Does not know cats? Must be tested Mediterranean test? Negative! An up-to-date test will be made before departure. Location: Shelter (K) Benny - a loyal companion is looking for his forever home Benny is a young pointer with a friendly and lovable nature. He gets along exceptionally well with females. He also has no problems with the males on our shelter grounds. However, we cannot currently assess how he reacts to other males. When Benny came to us, he was very reserved and insecure around people. But with patience and loving attention, he has made a wonderful development. Today he trusts his caregivers completely, enjoys being touched and enjoys long cuddle sessions. It's lovely to see how much he now seeks out his human's company. Benny is one of the more laid-back representatives of his breed, but he still brings the typical joy of movement and activity of a pointer. He is looking for active people who enjoy spending time in nature and who can provide him with both physical and mental stimulation. Therefore, we are looking for a hunting dog family who knows his needs and wants to give him security, clear structures and a loving home. It is particularly important to know that Benny has developed a so-called kennel stress. The stressful everyday life in the shelter is increasingly affecting him. All the more we wish that he soon gets the chance to exchange the kennel for a quiet home where he can settle in and enjoy life as a family dog. Who gives this special pointer the chance at a new beginning and shows him how beautiful a dog's life can be? Before the journey to the new home, X-rays will be taken on request, for a fee, to ensure that all joints are in order. The fee is determined by the number of X-rays. You can find more dogs and our application form on our homepage under

Benny Rasse: Pointer Mischling Alter: geb. 02.10.2021 Größe: ca. 60cm Gewicht: ca. 20 Kg Kastriert: Ja andere Hunde? Ja Kinder? Kennt er nicht Katzen? Muss getestet werden Mittelmeertest? Negativ!

About Benny

What life with Benny looks like

Benny is a adult pointer dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
