Bertín

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Bertín arrived at the shelter on September 2, 2026, and has since made it clear that he is a confident and outgoing dog with a lot of personality. He is a friendly, active, and sociable dog. He has a lot of energy on the streets - he never stops! He likes to keep an eye on everything that's going on around him, but precisely because of this, he can be a bit distracted and easily distracted during walks. In addition, he gets along well with other dogs in the yard and socializes well with them. Bertín is one of those dogs that have a lot of movement and curiosity about everything around them. That's why, anyone interested in him should keep in mind that he will need a family that understands his active nature and has patience with his tendency to get distracted. If you want to meet Bertín and find out if you can fit in, come and meet him.

Si quieres conocer a Bertín y descubrir si podéis encajar, ven a conocerlo.

About Bertín

What life with Bertín looks like

Bertín is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Villena in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bertín, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bertín?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Villena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bertín on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bertín if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Villena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bertín already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bertín isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Villena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bertín and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
