Bethoveen

Male · Young · 3 years

Hello, I'm Bethoveen, a beautiful mastiff with a huge body and an even bigger heart. I know that when you see me, you might think I'm an imposing dog because of my size, but I want you to know something about me: I'm a noble, calm, and very affectionate grand fellow with people. Mastiffs are dogs with a special character. We are noble, balanced, loyal, and very attached to our family. We don't need to be running around all day; we enjoy the tranquility, having our space, and above all, knowing that the people we love are close. We have that serene character that transmits calm and a gaze that seems to say it all. We are natural protectors, but we also know how to be real giants with a soft heart when we receive affection. And that's exactly how I am. Very sociable with people, noble, and grateful. I like to feel accompanied and enjoy those small moments that mean a lot to me: a caress, a kind word, being with someone who loves me... I may take up a lot of space at home, but I assure you that the space I'll take up in your heart will be even bigger.

About Bethoveen

What life with Bethoveen looks like

Bethoveen is a young adult dog waiting at Animales Rioja in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bethoveen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bethoveen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animales Rioja handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bethoveen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bethoveen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animales Rioja will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bethoveen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bethoveen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animales Rioja early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bethoveen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
