Betty has never known a family—she’s been living at the ENPA shelter on the Aeolian Islands ever since she was a tiny puppy. She has a sweet, cheerful, and enthusiastic personality. What makes her happiest? Water. Betty loves going to the beach: she has a blast splashing in the waves, rolling around on the shoreline, and, playing with the water, she manages to feel completely carefree. Betty gives her trust and affection only to those who spend time with her and treat her with respect. Her sensitivity requires patience, but those who earn her trust will discover a companion capable of forming deep and genuine bonds. At shelters, many dogs and cats are waiting to meet someone who can offer them a life filled with love and shared moments as part of a family. Yet, too often, these animals spend their entire lives in shelters. Every day, volunteers work hard to create for them a daily routine in which even a simple gesture—a shared moment of relaxation, a walk, or a special snack—can make all the difference, providing a sense of warmth and normalcy that helps them feel loved, while holding out hope that each one of them will find a forever family outside the shelter. Betty non ha mai conosciuto una famiglia: vive al rifugio ENPA delle Isole Eolie da quando era una cucciola. Ha un carattere dolce, allegro e pieno di entusiasmo. Ciò che la rende più felice? L’acqua. Betty ama le uscite al mare: si diverte tra le onde, si rotola sul bagnasciuga e, giocando con l’acqua, riesce a essere completamente spensierata. Betty accorda la sua fiducia e il suo affetto a chi le dedica tempo e rispetto. La sua sensibilità richiede pazienza, ma chi conquista la sua fiducia scopre una compagna capace di legami profondi e sinceri. Nei rifugi vivono tanti cani e gatti pronti a incontrare qualcuno che offra loro la possibilità di una vita ricca di affetto e di momenti condivisi in famiglia. Molti animali, però, vi trascorrono l’intera esistenza. I volontari si impegnano ogni giorno a costruire per loro una quotidianità in cui anche un gesto semplice, come un momento di relax condiviso, una passeggiata, uno spuntino speciale, può fare la differenza, offrendo un senso di affetto e di normalità che li aiuta a sentirsi amati, nella speranza di trovare per ciascuno di loro una famiglia fuori dal rifugio.
