Bibi

European Shorthair Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 5 years

Bibi is a gentle, calm lady with a shy character. At first, Bibi needs some time to get used to changes in her surroundings or to new people. She then prefers to seek out a warm, safe place where she can process everything calmly and keep an overview. At the same time, Bibi is naturally curious and enjoys discovering the world around her at her own pace. Once she feels at ease, she can carefully enjoy a bit of cuddling. With a calm, patient approach, Bibi will gain more and more confidence and develop into a lovely, affectionate housemate. We are looking for a quiet household of 1 to 2 people (without children) for Bibi. We suspect she will thrive best in a predictable environment. Bibi can be placed with a social, stable companion animal who can help her develop and build self-confidence, but this is not a requirement. She can be kept as an indoor cat, provided the living space offers sufficient stimulation. Go back

NLΒ·Show original

Ga terug

About Bibi

What life with Bibi looks like

Bibi is an adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡³πŸ‡±Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bibi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bibi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bibi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bibi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bibi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bibi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bibi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
