Bielik

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Our three-pawed Bielik is slowly looking around for a home. Let us remind you: he was found weak and with a torn paw. His right back paw had to be entirely amputated. The left one has two toes amputated. This was probably the result of meeting some machine, engine or poacher's trap. Everything has nicely healed and closed on Bielik. It's amazing how he manages well on one back paw without two toes, and he has no problem climbing to low heights, like the bed, which he loves. This was our biggest fear - whether everything healed properly and whether Bielik would be able to walk. Believe us, the sight of running - yes, running - of Bielik in the DT makes us cry from emotion. This is a sight that confirms our belief that it's worth it. His fur has greatly improved and he has gained weight, so he no longer looks like a pile of misfortune. We are still cleaning his ears, but there is less discharge. Perhaps we will have to clean them occasionally. Bielik loves human company, tolerates other cats and a big, but gentle dog. He is a bit shy, hides and runs away from loud noises, and at night he occupies a free spot in the bed like a pillow. He is an amazing mizik, and he can even demand cuddles on his own. When left alone, he politely waits, not meowing. Bielik is estimated to be about 5 years old, although he plays like a very young kitten. He is a completely healthy cat, with very nice results, no parasites, a beautiful appetite and energy for two. He is vaccinated, neutered, chipped, FIV/FELV tests negative, and has a health book. We are looking for a home that does not go out! Best without small children, can have a cat or dog that tolerate cat companionship. Bielik will be a wonderful friend with a little cuddling. Link to a non-binding questionnaire: After filling it out, please wait for contact from the caregiver from the foundation. More information about adoption:

About Bielik

What life with Bielik looks like

Bielik is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bielik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bielik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bielik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bielik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bielik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bielik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bielik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
