Adopt Bif (Біф)

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

When you give up a puppy, you always hope for a better life for it. Especially when the unregistered little one goes to an apartment. We were so happy for Bif when he went to a family. At that time we didn't have much experience, so after six years we got a call: "Grandpa died, the dog has nowhere to go. Take him back!" Of course, we took him back. When they brought him, the dog was confused, on an old homemade leash. He didn't know how to behave and the words "be careful, he is aggressive!" It turned out that in the apartment he had lived only a few months, then went to the countryside, to his grandpa's farm. This was another reason to be more meticulous during interviews with people. In fact, Bif (we call him Muka/Mukhtar differently) is very active, kind, nice, and obedient. Since the day he returned, he hasn't caused any problems. Of course, the first few weeks were terrible for him. But later, he trusted us, bloomed, and became what he is: loving, nice, always cheerful. And he needs a family! Coat color black with a blaze, medium size, 60 cm at shoulder height, weight 20 kg. Estimated date of birth November 7, 2014. Vaccinated, chipped, has a veterinary passport.

About Bif (Біф)

What life with Bif (Біф) looks like

Bif (Біф) is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast in Ukraine.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bif (Біф), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bif (Біф)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bif (Біф) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bif (Біф) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bif (Біф) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bif (Біф) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv Oblast early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bif (Біф) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
