Bigos arrived at our shelter from Nekli as a stray—a free spirit who had been fending for himself for a long time. He knows humans, but mostly from a distance. His relationship with people likely consisted of a bowl of food appearing somewhere on the path. This was a cat who would come for food—quietly, without hurry, with attentiveness. But when a hand tried to take a step closer, Bigos chose a safe distance. He is not ready for petting, and he doesn’t pretend otherwise. And that is beautiful in him—honesty without compromise. We are looking for a special home for him—one that won’t want to “change the cat,” but will allow him to be himself. A home of peace and patience, where no one will rush to build a relationship. Perhaps Bigos will never become a typical lap-sitting purring machine. But maybe one day he will sit a little closer. Maybe he will look longer. Maybe he will trust—his way. If you have the patience for a cat who sets boundaries and needs time—Bigos is waiting for you.
