BILBO

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Joy itself and infinite love for people - that's him. Always waiting with a smiling face and a wagging tail. He came to us in September last year, found on one of the Gdynia streets. Unfortunately, despite the passage of time, no one has come forward for him. Now he is waiting for someone who will show him what a real and safe home is. BILBO is a lovable, extremely sociable and friendly dog. He loves the presence of people, walks together, petting and being part of daily life. This is a dog who quickly attaches to the caregiver and gives amazing love. He rather does not get along with other dogs, so it is best if he is found as the only one. However, we know that neutral ground, without shelter stress and excess stimuli, is a completely different situation, so potential relationships should be checked during a calm meeting.

PL·Show original

Radość sama w sobie i nieskończona miłość do człowieka – cały on. Zawsze wyczekuje z uśmiechniętym pyszczkiem i merdającym ogonkiem. Bilbo to przekochany, niezwykle towarzyski i sympatyczny psiak. Uwielbia obecność człowieka, wspólne spacery, głaskanie i bycie częścią codziennego życia. To pies, który bardzo szybko przywiązuje się do opiekuna i obdarza niesamowitą miłością. Z innymi psami raczej się nie dogaduje, dlatego najlepiej odnajdzie się jako jedynak. Wiemy jednak, że neutralny grunt, bez schroniskowego stresu i nadmiaru bodźców, to zupełnie inna sytuacja, dlatego ewentualne relacje warto sprawdzać podczas spokojnego zapoznania. Numer kontaktowy w sprawie adopcji: 663 810 472 (w razie nieodebrania połączenia, zostaw sms – oddzwonimy). Nasze psiaki są wykastrowane zaszczepione oraz odrobaczone przed adopcją. Nie wydajemy psów do pilnowania podwórka czy na łańcuch.

About BILBO

What life with BILBO looks like

BILBO is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie in Gniezno.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting BILBO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BILBO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BILBO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BILBO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BILBO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BILBO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie early rather than rehoming privately; they know BILBO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
