Bilitis

Mixed Breed · Female

I am Bilitis. I was left outside, in front of a small house, in a box with my four babies. I had just turned two years old. In this house, there were people who took care of the cats, and when they arrived in the early morning, they saw us immediately. It was time! Because it was getting cold at night, so I would curl up with my babies to keep them warm. I didn't have much milk to offer them because I hadn't eaten for a long time. They put us in a larger box with blankets and food to fill the void in my stomach. I'm not very big! How beautiful my babies were! Quick and playful! When they were old enough to fly on their own, three of them left to live with nice people. And I was left alone with my last little ginger, Bristol. Oh, not for long, because one of the girls who took care of us called a friend who was just collecting homeless cats. So we left our "box" for a real house. My little Bristol charmed the people in the house so much that they decided to keep him 😄. I recognize my son of love there! So who's left? Well, that's me! So I'm going to try to sell myself 😉: I'm a young, dynamic, quick-witted, curious, playful and very pretty cat! The only thing is that I would like to go on little walks outside again. I admit, I miss it, feeling the grass under my paws and playing with insects. So a small secure garden, or even a balcony with a net so I don't fall, I take everything! About Bilitis

What life with Bilitis looks like

Bilitis is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at ADACA Amis Des Chats Abandonnes in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bilitis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bilitis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADACA Amis Des Chats Abandonnes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bilitis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bilitis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADACA Amis Des Chats Abandonnes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bilitis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bilitis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADACA Amis Des Chats Abandonnes early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bilitis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
