adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bimbo has found a home! His story: Bimbo is currently with his sisters Seetje and Püppy in Romania and wishes nothing more than to spend the cold season in a warm, comfortable home with lots of love and his new family. Bimbo is now approximately 11 weeks old, weighs 3.5 kg, and stands 23 cm at the shoulder. We assume he will grow to be medium-sized. He is a typical puppy, playful, curious, and alert. Bimbo wishes nothing more than to grow up in his own warm and cozy home. Can you fulfill his wish? He gets along great with other dogs and looks forward to meeting them. What he thinks of cats, we unfortunately do not know, but he will probably also find a friend in these animals. We are sure that this little polar bear will quickly learn the dog world 1×1 if he is raised with lots of loving consistency and desired behavior is reinforced. Leash walking and house training are what Bimbo still needs to learn. Bimbo is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes he might make a little mess, but we shouldn't take it personally and should always guide his upbringing with a positive reinforcement style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggles, and a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the lives of these little rascals upside down. They often "forget" everything they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important to consistently – but lovingly – raise them during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! We cannot rule out that Bimbo might bring herding or kitchen protection dog genes. Bimbo travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered to his new home. He brings his EU Companion Animal Certificate and is ready for a positive adoption. Would you like to fulfill this little bear's big wish?

About Bimbo

What life with Bimbo looks like

Bimbo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bimbo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bimbo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bimbo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bimbo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bimbo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bimbo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bimbo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
