adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Biscuit has found her people! Her story: The four charming puppies, Biscuit, Camille, Goofy, and Merlin, are searching for a home. The little mice had a tough start in life. Unwanted and unloved, they were seemingly abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Fortunately, they were found by our animal welfare workers:innen and are now in a foster home in Romania. The little Biscuit had it especially hard. Apparently, she was hit by a car. When the little ones were found, she had a broken leg and a large wound on her belly. Her rescue came just in time. Now, all her wounds have healed, and Biscuit is as sprightly as ever. At first, she was a bit shy, but who could blame her. But once she gets to know people, she is simply sweet and playful. She shows puppy-like behavior and gets along with dogs and cats. With her black-beige fur, she looks a bit like a black dog dipped in a light-colored paint. With her sweet face and ears that are probably still figuring out if they should stand up, she is simply irresistible to the eye 😊. She is likely to grow to a medium size. Biscuit is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. The occasional mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Biscuit should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding teenage years are approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to consistently but lovingly train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! After positive Then she is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Her EU pet passport is also ready to go. Has Biscuit also charmed you? Then don't hesitate. She is looking forward to your inquiry. Even though we of course wish for a Forever Home for Biscuit, a foster home would also be helpful. Thank you, Sofi! You gave Biscuit her name and thus her identity. As of: 23.12.

Stand: 23.12.2024

About Biscuit

What life with Biscuit looks like

Biscuit is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Biscuit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Biscuit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Biscuit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Biscuit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Biscuit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Biscuit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Biscuit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
