adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Biscuit has found his home! His story: What is small and cute? Right, a Keks! And what is even cuter and simply melts in your hands? Definitely our little puppy Biscuit! With his soft, light brown fur and loving eyes, he is such a golden treasure – one must simply fall in love with him right away! The approximately five to six-month-old male dog should, like every puppy, be playing carefree and discovering the world. But instead, Biscuit was found in an unspeakably bad condition on a landfill in the Romanian countryside. He was in great pain and could barely walk. At the vet, it became clear how much suffering this little guy had already endured: X-rays showed several old and new fractures, including a multiple broken leg and broken ribs. Currently, Biscuit lives in a loving foster home in Romania, but in outdoor conditions. He has been operated on, as some of his fractures needed surgical treatment so that he can walk pain-free in the future. As a result, he now has an implant in his front leg for stabilization. This will not hinder him, but should be monitored in the future. Of course, we have the vet reports and X-rays, which can be sent upon request. The little Biscuit has not yet known life in a house, but is currently learning things like leash walking, and is developing into an open, friendly young dog that wishes for a loving home. Currently, he is about 43 cm tall and will likely stay around medium-sized. Biscuit must, like every puppy, learn the dog ABCs first, and also he will one day enter puberty, which can be managed with a lot of understanding, patience, and humor. Certainly, a confident only dog would help with the adjustment, as he gets along well with fellow animals. The little Keks is expected to travel to his new home in mid-April, once he has fully recovered from the surgery. Currently, he is still in a cast. A foster home in Germany would also be very helpful. He travels microchipped, flea-treated, dewormed, and vaccinated, and brings his EU pet passport. Many thanks, Roxana! You gave Biscuit his name! As of: 26.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank, Roxana! Du hast Biscuit seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 26.03.2026

About Biscuit

What life with Biscuit looks like

Biscuit is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Biscuit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Biscuit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Biscuit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Biscuit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Biscuit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Biscuit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Biscuit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
