Adopt BISIA

Mixed Breed · Unknown

BISIA is a calm, gentle and shy puppy who definitely does not like to be the center of attention. She often spends time in her hut, curled up in the straw. She needs time to get to know each person individually. She does not like chaos, noise and sudden movements. She would be a wonderful, calm companion if someone would give her the chance for her remaining years. But BISIA is still waiting and believing, and it is this love, the dream of closeness and security that gives her such strength. Is it precisely this calm and delicate temperament that is the reason why BISIA has been in the animal shelter for 8 years already? Timid puppies can also love, and BISIA hasn't even been given a chance to show it to anyone.

Read original (pl)

Bisia jest spokojną, łagodną i nieśmiałą psinką, zdecydowanie nie lubi być w centrum uwagi. Często przesiaduje w swojej budzie, wtulona w słomę. Potrzebuje czasu, by przekonać się do każdego z osobna. Numer kontaktowy w sprawie adopcji: 663 810 472 (w razie nieodebrania połączenia, zostaw sms – oddzwonimy). Wszystkie nasze psiaki są wykastrowane przed adopcją, zaszczepione i odrobaczone. Nie wydajemy psów do pilnowania podwórka czy na łańcuch.

About BISIA

What life with BISIA looks like

BISIA is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie in Gniezno.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting BISIA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BISIA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BISIA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BISIA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BISIA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BISIA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie early rather than rehoming privately; they know BISIA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
