Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Zila likely carries breed characteristics of a lister dog. Please inform yourself BEFORE adoption whether you can import and keep such a dog in your country, and what requirements you need to fulfill. Zila is housed at the Swiss Ranch. We provide mediation assistance for the Animal Protection Center/Swiss Ranch. Zila's monthly care costs on average 100.00 CHF, for which we seek sponsors. For 2026, monthly sponsorships are covered by Mr. and Mrs. M. and C. K. 100.00 CHF one-time donations: 0.00 CHF For 2026 in total so far: 300.00 CHF -------------------------------------------------------------- Current Description November 2025: Zila has been in the animal shelter for over 3.5 years, despite being a very friendly and open dog. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, likes to be petted and hugged, and enjoys pieces of food. He is also open to people and is happy when he gets visitors. Zila has not had the chance to learn much in his life. Boundaries are still new to him, so this must be practiced with him. This is shown in his sometimes stormy reactions. However, we are sure that he will learn quickly through his joyful and people-oriented nature. Zila must, however, be rehomed to Hungary or Austria due to his breed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description February 2022: Zila is a found dog from Nograd megye. He is friendly and gets along well with fellow animals of both sexes. He likes people very much, but cannot fully control his temperament and is often stormy. Due to his breed, we are looking for a place for him in Hungary or Austria, but we would also be happy to find sponsors for the dear boy who can support him in this way. *Should more donations than specified be received, they will be used for association purposes.

About Bitte spenden Sie hier

What life with Bitte spenden Sie hier looks like

Bitte spenden Sie hier is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. in Schnarup-Thumby.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bitte spenden Sie hier, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bitte spenden Sie hier?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bitte spenden Sie hier on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bitte spenden Sie hier if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bitte spenden Sie hier already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bitte spenden Sie hier isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bitte spenden Sie hier and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
