Henrik is housed at the Swiss Ranch. We provide placement assistance for the Tierschutz-Zentrum/Swiss Ranch. Caring for Henrik costs an average of €100 per month, and we are looking for sponsors to cover this. Covered monthly by sponsors for 2026: One-time donations: €0.00 Total so far: €0.00 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Current Description April 2026: Henrik's story is quite special – and it could have ended very differently. The brave male dog was found on the street after being hit by an arrow that had pierced his head. Miraculously, his brain remained unharmed. It took over a week for dedicated animal welfare workers to safely secure him, as he understandably was very frightened. Eventually, with a lot of patience, they managed to bring him to safety, and he came into our care. Following a successful operation, the arrow was removed – and Henrik was given a second chance at life. Initially, Henrik was very cautious and reserved, but he has since made great progress. He is beginning to trust again, approaches people, and allows closeness. He can already enjoy cuddles, and being picked up is no longer a problem for him either. It is clear that he has left his greatest trauma behind him. Today, he shows himself to be a friendly, increasingly open dog who is ready to engage with people again. How he behaves around other dogs cannot yet be reliably assessed, as he was previously mostly on his own. We are looking for a loving and patient family for Henrik, one that will give him the time to settle into his new home and continue building trust. After everything he has been through, he needs people who can give him safety, understanding, and security. A calm environment and a structured daily routine will help him continue to develop positively. Henrik has been given a second chance – now a new chapter full of love and stability should begin for him. Should more donations be received than indicated, they will be used for the association's purposes. If you do not agree with this, please contact us at:

About Bitte spenden Sie hier

What life with Bitte spenden Sie hier looks like

Bitte spenden Sie hier is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. in Schnarup-Thumby.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bitte spenden Sie hier, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bitte spenden Sie hier?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bitte spenden Sie hier on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bitte spenden Sie hier if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bitte spenden Sie hier already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bitte spenden Sie hier isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe-Ungarn e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bitte spenden Sie hier and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
