Bitzy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Bitzy found her people quickly! Her story: Bitzy was found together with her mother Enya in the Meses Mountains. They were probably abandoned. Both could now move into a pension in Zalau. Here she lives in an outdoor pen, but the people have too little time for her. She is safe – but she does not lead a happy life here. Bitzy is a small, sweet puppy who behaves age-appropriately. She is curious, friendly, enjoys being petted, and already accepts the leash and harness well. She spent a week in a foster home and behaved very well. She gets along well with other dogs. Bitzy is almost 4 months old and we assume she will grow to be small to medium-sized. Bitzy is looking for people who will not expect much from her at first and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps should not be held against her, and Bitzy should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They often forget everything they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Bitzy is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive review. Who will fall in love with the sweetest puppy from Romania? Many thanks to Steffi S.! You gave Bitzy her sweet name! Date: 20.07.

Vielen Dank Steffi S.! Du hast Bitzy ihren süßen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 20.07.2024

About Bitzy

What life with Bitzy looks like

Bitzy is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bitzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bitzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bitzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bitzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bitzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bitzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bitzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
