Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil)

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 4 months

Hi, I’m Björn. I’m a kitten just two months old. My sister Brunhilde and I arrived at the animal shelter in Périgueux very thin and weak. After a rather difficult first night, I gradually started to regain my strength. Now I’m a lively, energetic, and very playful kitten. That tough experience has made me incredibly close to humans. I’m very cuddly and affectionate with them, and I don’t hesitate to use my little voice to get a bit of attention. I’d almost be the perfect kitten! My only minor concern is that I’m still learning how to use the litter box. I’m making great progress, but you’ll still need to keep an eye on the sheets, beds, and sofas. A life with outdoor access would surely be the ultimate solution. But I’m still young and have come a long way, so I’ve got every chance of completely overcoming this little issue. If my profile interests you, please contact my foster family directly via message at 06.

About Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil)

What life with Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) looks like

Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at SPA de Périgueux in France.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA de Périgueux handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA de Périgueux will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA de Périgueux early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bjorn (visible en famille d'accueil) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
