Blitzer

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

My name is Blitzer, and I am about seven years old, and the ultimate cuddle cat. I used to live in the forest in a cat colony, but now I have lived a whole year in a foster home and practiced becoming a real family and affectionate cat. My foster mother says I have become really, really good! But honestly... it's quite easy, because I love it! Here in the foster home I get everything I need: lots of good food, soft rugs, fun toys and cuddles every single day. My foster mother makes sure I get grooming, ear cleaning and nail trimming regularly, and it's going perfectly, because I trust her. I am a gentle and kind boy who has taken time to become secure, and now I thrive best as an indoor cat. I live with a cat brother I am very fond of, and I hope my new home also has a cat or two from before. I like being with other cats so much, it feels safe and nice, after many years without people. In the morning I wait excitedly for breakfast. It's so nice when the house comes alive, and we can purr, chat and cuddle. Actually, all meals are the highlight of the day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and especially desserts and treats. In the evening I am most comfortable on the sofa, lying on my back with my paws in all directions. Happily wrapped in a blanket while getting a paw massage. Yes, I know - I have developed nice habits. I love being brushed and playing with the crinkly nuts that fly across the floor. Sometimes I take a little trip out onto the balcony, just to get some fresh air in my ears. Now I hope to find a quiet and patient home, with safe people and a kind cat friend. I take a little time to warm up to strangers, so I need someone who respects that. When I play I can also get a bit eager and kick a little or bite, but I stop when my foster mother says so. Still, my new family needs to understand that I don't want to hurt anything, and instead show me better ways to play. Maybe it's with you that I will continue my good indoor cat life? Come visit me some day!

About Blitzer

What life with Blitzer looks like

Blitzer is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blitzer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blitzer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blitzer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blitzer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blitzer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blitzer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blitzer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
