Blu

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

During our Sardinian tour in March 2026, a visit to the Rifugios of LIDA in Olbia was naturally on our agenda, where we were eagerly awaited. For, as always, there were several new arrivals that they wanted to introduce to us. Among these new arrivals was this nice sextet: four boys and two girls: Boby, Blu, Blaze, Blake, as well as Babel and Brandy. The six puppy children were found in Campagna in mid-February 2026, simply abandoned and left to their fate. This behavior, although experienced a thousand times, still shocks us anew. We will never understand what drives people to such actions. It was sheer luck that the six puppy children were found by people who meant them no harm but brought them to the LIDA Rifugio. There, the little ones were well cared for, they received food and water, and were freed from parasites. When we met Boby, Blu, Blaze, Blake, and their sisters Babel and Brandy, they had fully recovered from the hardships they had endured. Although they may not have been entirely comfortable with the photo session, they all showed themselves to be very loving and friendly. For their further development, it would be advantageous if they could leave the Rifugio as soon as possible and enter a familiar environment. The sooner Boby, Ble, Blaze, Blake, Babel, and Brandy come into a family setting, the better. Would you like to give one of these adorable puppy children a forever home with a close family connection? May 29, 2026: Blu was able to travel to his German foster home. If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption brings not only great joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide nationwide support.

About Blu

What life with Blu looks like

Blu is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
