Adopt Blue

Female · Puppy · 11 months

11-month-old and completely deaf Female Blue needs short walks to strengthen her front right leg after having it pinned and plated due to a broken radius and ulna (11weeks post surgery) She is sometimes reluctant to go for walks and can be quite stubborn. She appears not to like the cold, so she wears a jumper to keep her warm on her walks. She walks nicely on the lead, loves her food, and will try to jump up onto the kitchen sides when dinner is cooking. She appears to have an incredible sense of smell, is a very quick learner, and will do sit, lie and wait commands for a treat. Her favourite thing to do is sit on the sofa and have cuddles; she is an incredibly loving girl, she loves meeting people, especially children. She has been living with children in her foster home. She hasn’t had a lot of interaction with other dogs, but the interaction she has had has been positive, and she wants to play. She likes to play with her toys and family, but spends a large portion of the day asleep. Due to her deafness, she is hyper vigilant and always likes to have an eye on her foster mum, so she does not like to be left alone at the moment, but I think this can be worked on. She enjoys going out in the car and getting a Pup Cup from Costa with her foster mum. She has been socialised in cafes; this still needs working on, but she is making progress. She will be an absolutely wonderful addition to someone’s family. Plus, she has so much love to give. IMPORTANT INFORMATION! She is completely deaf. About Blue

What life with Blue looks like

Blue is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Beds for Bullies in Barnham.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blue, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blue?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Beds for Bullies handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blue on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blue if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Beds for Bullies will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blue already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blue isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Beds for Bullies early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blue and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
